GET STARTED?
You start by contacting Business Brokers Hawaii, Inc.
by any of the means presented on the Home Page (email is recommended). Someone from
our office will contact you by email or phone. We will discuss your exact requirements and
motivations and arrive at a program that's right for your needs. When you contact us,
please have a copy of your documents handy to speed the information gathering process.
HOW WILL THIS AFFECT THE PERSON(S) PAYING ME?
It won't affect them at all. All of the original
terms and conditions will remain in effect. The only change will be to whom future
payments are made.
CAN I SELL JUST A PORTION OF MY PAYMENTS?
Yes. Depending on your needs, you may require just a
specific amount of cash. In this case, we'll evaluate the payments you're receiving and
determine how many of your payments we'll buy to provide you with the cash you need. The
remainder of the payments are yours to keep.
WHAT INFORMATION IS NECESSARY TO RECEIVE A QUOTE?
A copy of the note, mortgage, your closing statement,
the Annuity contract, lottery award documentation, etc., will provide all the necessary
information.
HOW LONG
WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE A QUOTE?
It depends on the type of note or payment stream, and
how much of the necessary documentation you have in hand. Once the information is received
(via phone, fax, or e-mail) you should receive a quote from Business Brokers Hawaii, Inc.
in 72 hours or less (during the business week).
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE THE FUNDS?
Generally, from 4 to 6 business weeks for mortgages
or other real-estate based notes. Other types of contracts may be even less
time-intensive. A lot of this will be dictated by you having all of the necessary
documentation available when we start.
HOW WILL I BE PAID?
You will receive a certified check from a major
financial institution.
WHY ARE MORTGAGES AND OTHER PAYMENT STREAMS
DISCOUNTED?
What investors who buy privately-held notes and other
payments are doing is giving you the security of 'cash-in-hand' today in return for the promise
of funds in the future, received over time. It's commonly accepted that money today is
worth more than money in the future, and money in-hand today is definitely
worth more than money due tomorrow. Mortgages, etc., are discounted to make
this trade-off attractive to the investors making the purchase. They are now taking the
risk of the payor defaulting.
